Can an engine be fixed after it overheated and was allowed to run until it stalled?

It is possible that engine is fine. repair radiator hose and try to fire back up. I've seen many many womens cars run till they stop, then after cooling, repairing water leak, fire up and run fine. One of my ex-gfs ran her car till it stop due to over heating (92 honda) 4 times in one day trying to get to work (as soon as it would recrank she continued driving) before she called me to tell me it over-heated. that car now belongs to her roommate over a year later and still runs like a top. yes i gave her 10 degree's of hell over doing that to her car and was absolutely certain it was ruined forever, i was wrong.
